On behalf of members and performers, the Board of Directors and Staff of Melbourne Opera extends heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the Victorian bushfire disasters on 7 February 2009.

We extend condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones and friends in these terrible fires, and our sympathies to those who have lost their homes, businesses, livestock, crops, and family possessions and belongings.

We offer our sincere thanks to those volunteers who have worked so hard and often at extreme personal risk to limit the impact of the fires and the aftermath.

The Company will be mounting functions and concerts in aid of this disaster.
