Kerry was born in Melbourne and completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Japanese and Politics
before moving to the UK to further her singing studies. She was awarded a scholarship to study at
Trinity College of Music, London and completed a PostGraduate Diploma in Vocal Studies. While
still at college her professional career began singing the lead role of Blanche in Poulenc’ s Dialogue
of the Carmelites at Spitalfield’s Market Opera. Since then Kerry has performed operatic roles
internationally in countries including the UK, France, Switzerland, Holland, the Middle East and
Asia. Recent operatic roles include Leonora (Il Trovatore), Gilda (Rigoletto), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan
Tutte) and Norina (Don Pasquale).
Kerry has recently returned to live in Australia and in 2009 sang the role of Violetta in La Traviata for Melbourne Opera at
the Athenaeum Theatre, Catherine in The Sound Garden for Oz Opera Schools Company (Australian Opera) and covered
Hendrickje and Saskia in Rembrandt’s Wife for Victorian Opera. This year Kerry will sing the role of Nedda in Pagliacci for
Melbourne Opera.
