David Gould
David Gould2David Gould is a born Australia, who studied at VCA Brian Hansford, Gary May, Anna Connolly – Melbourne, Janice Chapman London.
In 1992 David performed alongside John Farnham in the legendary rock opera ‘J.C. Superstar’. After ‘Superstar’ David toured Australia and Hong Kong in ‘South Pacific’ in over 350 performances playing the role of ‘Stewpot’. He then toured Australia in the title role of The Mikado  in which he went on to be nominated for both a Green Room Award and a ‘MO’ Variety Award for ‘Best actor in a musical’. David was immediately cast in the comic role as the Sergeant of Police in Essgee’s New Zealand tour of ‘Pirates of Penzance’. This was followedwith a 12 month tour of ‘H.M.S. Pinafore’, which he played the role of Captain Corcoran to critical acclaim.
In 2000 he performed with Dennis Olsen in a tribute to Gilbert and Sullivan at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre before joining the Essgee boat again for a 2 year tour of Pirates of Penzance around Australia.  For Melbourne Opera he performed the roles of Nourabad in The Pearl Fishers, The Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, Don Basilio in The Barber of Seville, Mustapha in Rossini’s The Italian Girl from Algiers and the role of Giorgio in  The Gondoliers for Opera Australia. David performed the role of Ned and Parson Alltalk in the Scott Joplin opera “Treemonisha” as guest soloist with the Queensland Choir. His other operatic roles include Angelotti  in Tosca, Mephistopheles in Amore and Don Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro. In 2007 he played the role of Cadmus in the Greek tragedy ‘The Bacchae’ at Chapel off Chapel in Melbourne and recently revisited the title role of ‘The Mikado’ playing alongside Julie Anthony.
When not involved in a major production, David travels throughout the world performing at private and corporate events. David has performed on radio and television around Australia including Bert Newton’s ‘Good Morning Australia’,‘Hey, Hey , it’s Saturday!’ and ‘Denise’. His stand-up comedy character, ‘Whispering Kamahl, was recently featured on the television show ‘The Kings of Comedy’. He features on the Aria award winning, multi- platinum cast album of J.C. Superstar and  also in the platinum award winning video of ‘The Mikado’ and ‘H.M.S Pinafore’. David has appeared in ‘Seachange’, ‘Neighbours’  and ‘Something In The Air’ for the A.B.C.
